How To Install Mac OS X Lion From Any USB Drive

To create a Mac OS X 10.7 Lion bootable USB drive follow steps below:
Step 1: The first thing to do is to pay $29.99 from the App Store to download the latest Mac OS 10.7.3. After download process is completed a folder named Install Mac OS X Lion is in your Applications folder.
Step 2: Right click on downloaded package and choose Show Package
Step 3: Now open folder Contents and then SharedSupport.
Step 4: Copy InstallESD.dmg on your desktop for convenience.
Step 5: Find Disk Utility via Spotlight and insert your USB drive with a minimum capacity of 8 GB. Also make sure your USB drive is blank.
Step 6: Your USB then appears in the list on the left that lists all partitions internal or external. Select your USB drive and click the Restore button on the right side.
Step 7: In the Source… field, click Image… and specify the file InstallESD.dmg previously copied to the desktop.
Step 8: In the Destination… field, drag and drop your USB drive from the list on the left.
Step 9: You just have to click on the Restore button in bottom right corner and wait about 10-15 minutes so that the operation is completed.
Step 10: To install the Lion, open System Preferences and click Startup icon. There, select your USB drive and restart your Mac computer.
Step 11: The computer will then reboot with your bootable USB drive.
You now have a bootable USB drive able to install Mac OS X Lion on your different Mac machines. It will also help you to reformat your Mac in case of trouble.
